Crafty Boots Challenges - Christmas in July

Our challenge this fortnight at Crafty Boots Challenges is Christmas in July. Here in Australia, our Christmas' are either muggy and wet, or hot and dry, so Christmas in July is the closest I will probably ever get to a white Christmas. I love the idea of a white Christmas, and my card for this challenge reflects that.

The DSP I have used is the last sheet in my Kaisercraft 25 Days of Christmas pad, which I have been hoarding for a very long time; it's just been "too pretty" to use! I finally found a great sketch in one of my older craft magazines, which I knew would be perfect to use. I have kept the rest of the card fairly simple, to really showcase the details of the paper.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Kraft cardstock
DSP: Kaisercraft 25 Days of Christmas
Ink: Versamark, TH DI Brushed Corduroy
Stamp sets: Cozy Christmas, A Wish For Peace
Embellishments: Stampin' Up! Basic Rhinestones, the blue resin embellishment was from my stash

We're halfway through our masculine challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges, and I managed to squeeze out another masculine card.

So a nice, fuss-free card this week.

Crafty Boots Challenges - Masculine

There is a new challenge over at Crafty Boots Challenges this fortnight; masculine themed projects! Here is my card for this great challenge

As with most of our challenges, I have too many ideas, and not enough cards (or time), but I managed to narrow down week 1 to this card. I have made a Z-Fold card, with Tim Holtz papers, the motorcycle and sentiment stamps are both Stampin' Up! The embellishments are some chipboard chevrons (inked with SU Always Artichoke, finished with Glossy Accents), and a chipboard cog button.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will have another card next week!

Crafty Boots Challenges mid-challenge reminder: Butterflies and Bees

Hi and welcome back to another fab challenge over at Crafty Boots Challenges. The challenge this fortnight involves one of my all-time favourite things; butterflies! Despite being rushed off my feet with sick kids, there was no way I was missing out on this challenge, so here is my card, which took the better part of a week to put together (sad, right?!)

I don't usually like spruiking my own cards, but I am so happy with how this turned out! The background has been put together using Dylusions sprays on watercolour card. The sentiment is from Stampendous, and my butterfly die-cut is of course, from my trusty Stampin' Up! framelits. The card base and cardstock used is Stampin' Up! Bermuda Bay.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I'll be back next week for yet another great challenge :)

Crafty Boots Challenges - Monochrome MID CHALLENGE REMINDER

Hi, and welcome to the tail-end of a great challenge over at Crafty Boots Challenges. This fortnight we have been sharing and loving on all things monochromatic! Here is my card for the challenge

I was fortunate enough to be able to demonstrate how to make step cards at my local craft group over the weekend, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to use this challenge to make some samples PLUS make some Mother's Day cards which we are celebrating this weekend in Australia. Talk about killing multiple birds with one stone!

I have made a side step card using a great tutorial on YouTube by Stamping with Dawn. She is such a clever lady, and one of my absolute FAVOURITE YouTubers, so be sure to check her out!

The materials used on this card are all Stampin' Up!

Cardstock: Whisper White, Blushing Bride
Ink: Blushing Bride, Memento Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Flowering Flourishes, Blessed Mother, Petite Petals
Tools: Bold Butterflies thinlits, Petite Petals punch, Scalloped Oval punch, Polka Dot embossing folder
Embellishments: Basic rhinestones

Creative Card Crew #109 CAS

We have a great theme for this fortnight's challenge at Creative Card Crew this fortnight; Clean & Simple (CAS).

Imagine That are our fab sponsors, and have a great prize of 3 digis for the winner of this challenge.

Here is my card, using one of the images from the gorgeous Fuschia & Hummingbird set

To keep with the CAS theme, all I have done is stamp a Stampin' Up! sentiment, added a few rhinestones and mounted onto Wisteria Wonder cardstock.

I hope you will join in with us! Have a great week :)

Crafty Boots Challenges - MID CHALLENGE REMINDER 'Easter'

Well, I did it! A very basic first attempt, but an attempt nevertheless. I managed to put together a cute, little punch art gift box for our mid challenge reminder at Crafty Boots Challenges.

I adapted this box from a box I found on Pinterest. I can't link to the Pinterest post, but I can go one better and link directly to the website where I found basic instructions for the punch art bunny. Head over here and show the talented Sharon some bloggy love!

Materials used are all Stampin' Up except where specified:

Dies: Fry Box, Spellbinders Classic Ovals Small
Punches: Word Window, Small Oval, Bow Builder
Alphas: American Crafts
Markers: Blushing Bride, Copic Multi-liner
DP: 2013-2015 In-Colour DSP
Cardstock: Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Blushing Bride

Thanks for stopping by!

Crafty Boots Challenges - Easter

We have a really spiffy challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges this fortnight; Easter!

I have made two projects this week, and am hoping to have a play with punch/die cut art for the mid-challenge reminder.

Here are this week's projects:

My first card is pretty simple, I found my inspiration on Pinterest. I have used some scraps of Kaisercraft papers to make the eggs and butterfly. The dies are Spellbinders Small Ovals, and Stampin' Up! Butterfly framelits. The sentiment has been made using some alphas, and cardstock is Stampin' Up! Baked Brown Sugar.

For my second card, I have made an easel card. Cardstock is Stampin'  Up! So Saffron and Whisper White. I have zero idea where the papers come from, I want to say Echo Park though, (maybe?). I have used Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Large Ovals, Small Ovals. The stamp set is Stampin' Up! Easter Blossoms, inks used are Stampin' Up! So Saffron, Strawberry Slush. The sentiment was punched using Stampin' Up! Decorative Label punch.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back next week for the mid-challenge reminder :)

Creative Card Crew - #108 Chicks

We have another fab challenge this fortnight at Creative Card Crew; add "chicks" to your card!

A Day For Daisies is our awesome sponsor, and I was lucky enough to play with Birds for Bree

I have coloured my image with Copics. I have no idea what the paper is, I think maybe Echo Park? The dies used are La La Land, and Magnolia Doohickey. The sentiment was stamped with a freebie from a magazine. I have finished the card off with some liquid pearls.

Thanks for stopping by!

Crafty Boots Challenges - MID CHALLENGE REMINDER Something for the lady

This challenge was such a fun one for me, although I encountered the all-too-frequent problem of "too many options, where to begin?!". I started with one of the many images I have been practicing water-colouring, and decided to go from there.

I have been practicing my water-colouring lately. I still have a long way to go, but I finally plucked up the confidence to put one of the images onto a card. The image is "Daisy"from Kaszazz. The cardstock is Stampin' Up! Raspberry Ripple (long-retired). The paper is (I think) Echo Park - I really should keep the selvedge of my papers, woops! I have inked the edges of the image with Distress Ink Iced Spruce and Black Soot. The sentiment and punches are all Stampin' Up! and I have finished off the card with Liquid Pearls. I found all my neglected Liquid Pearls and embossing powders, so I'm trying to use them.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
