Crafty Boots Challenges - Pink MID-CHALLENGE REMINDER

We're halfway through our fab Pink challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges for this fortnight. For this week, I have made a card for a friend  who sadly (and very unexpectedly) passed away two weeks ago in a car accident. Her craft friends have been asked to make cards to place around her coffin, in lieu of flowers. I saw this stamp at a craft show, and it had my friends name written all over it, so it seemed only fitting that I make her a card with it.

The image is Yvette from Stamp It Australia, coloured with Copics, the papers are Kaisercraft Mademoiselle, edges are inked with Kaisercraft Pinecone, and finished off with Stampin' Up! Basic Rhinestones, the card base is Kraft cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by, it's been wonderful looking at all the Pink entries in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Crafty Boots Challenges - Pink

As usual, we have a fab new challenge over at Crafty Boots Challenges for you this fortnight. In honour of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, we have a 'pink' challenge on the go.

I have kept my card very simple for the challenge, but plucked up the courage to cut into a gorgeous sheet of Kaszazz paper that I have been hoarding for over 4 years now *sniff*.

The vertical strip has been stamped with an old Stampin' Up! stamp set; Strength and Hope, which was a set sold a few years ago in honour of Breast Cancer awareness. The sentiment is from a current Stampin' Up! hostess set, and all edges have been inked in Stampin' Up! Blushing Bride ink, and the card has been backed onto a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock. As mentioned, the DSP is Kaszazz, the butterfly is die-cut using Stampin' Up! Bold Butterflies die, and finished off with a few rhinestones.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Crafty Boots Challenges - Halloween MID-CHALLENGE REMINDER

We don't really "do" Halloween in Australia, which is a shame! My girls love all things Halloween and ghoulish, so I have amassed a small collection of Halloween-themed products, and here is my card for the challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges this fortnight.

I have so much going on here! The background has been created using a mix of Dylusions sprays, Distress Inks and Tim Holtz stencils. The skull is from Stampers Anonymous Halloween Blueprints, sponged with Distress Ink and had glossy accents applied over the top. The two tickets are from retired Stampin' Up! set, That's The Ticket, and inked over with Distress Ink. The "Boo" sentiment has been diecut from Kaisercraft alphabet dies, and had Kindy Glitz applied over the top. The skull has been mounted with foam tape, and everything else applied with Glossy Accents (so much tidier than Tombow glue!). The base of the card is Stampin' Up! Elegant Eggplant.

My 9 year old has already snagged this card as next year's birthday card (her birthday was only a few weeks ago!), or if not "Christmas will do too, mum".

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Crafty Boots Challenges - Autumn is in the air MID CHALLENGE REMINDER

This was a hard challenge for me at Crafty Boots Challenges, our Autumn is earlier in the year, when the northern hemisphere is celebrating Spring. So we have just entered Spring here, and my mind is on sunshine (which we have yet to experience), warm weather (ditto), and flowers (getting there slowly). Anyhoo, thank heavens for Pinterest, hey? Once I hit Pinterest, the creative ideas started flowing.

I took two of my favourite Autumn-themed stamp sets (both Stampin' Up! Lovely As A Tree, and French Foliage), but I wanted to go that little bit further, so I played around with the Shaving Foam Technique, some Tim Holtz Distress reinkers, and an Adirondack Alcohol ink, and came up with this background. It was so much fun, I ended up making a Shaving Foam master sheet and played around with a few different finishes. I have deliberately left the sentiment off, so I can add it inside the card.
