DSP: Home for Christmas<br />

<br />
I have amassed a collection of backgrounds, using sprays, inks, Nuance powders, etc., so I'm trying to use them up. This background was made using Dylusions Spray Inks on watercolour card. The cute tree die is from Memory Box, and I've used the retired Cozy Christmas stamp set from Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up! polka dots embossing folder, modern label and word window punch, Teeny, Tiny Sentiments, and white cardstock. <br />
<br />

Well, they all are, but I love this one because it's unique. A challenge that's outside the box deserves a card that is also outside the box. I've deviated from my current favourite style (*cough cough* mixed media) to go with some thing simple, clean, and suitable for any gender or occasion.<br />

I'm a sucker for butterflies, I absolutely LOVE them! So much so, that I made two cards for week 1, and have a few more in the works for our mid-challenge reminder<br />
<br />
Card 1<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJpxe2FPzUGXGLPp02Uxo_u5-eONQkda81d5X6Tk7C_bGGYSru1XXhfXlKDpwm-J-uy7616C2juoNstyERNWwe7pHN9d93h5AZGRqE26_HYbDm36v_v1LsUOigUjYVqqKOiaZQSkqyr8c/s1600/CBC+Things+with+wings+wk1_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJpxe2FPzUGXGLPp02Uxo_u5-eONQkda81d5X6Tk7C_bGGYSru1XXhfXlKDpwm-J-uy7616C2juoNstyERNWwe7pHN9d93h5AZGRqE26_HYbDm36v_v1LsUOigUjYVqqKOiaZQSkqyr8c/s400/CBC+Things+with+wings+wk1_1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Card 1 is a sample for a technique demonstration I will be doing for my local craft group next year; negative masking. I have used gloss card and my kaleidoscope ink pad, along with a love heart to get a rainbow heart image, and sponged across it with Distress Ink Black Soot and a love heart stencil, finished off with Stampin' Up! Bold Butterflies dies, rhinestones, and alphas. The card base is Stampin' Up! Elegant Eggplant cardstock.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Card 2</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_UG1upjUaeLR6hs7B6fjfRnGdakXc-SjRarZXQQ9CHsFgphqT8MIGrZyTIVBFPMBeyaV7v2d0DlJbxDuwi9YWjTe442AkVz8wQO1GkH7S9j8YlxddVOQYvAjTBUGDURn3q0_dQrlf9no/s1600/CBC+Things+with+wings+wk1_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_UG1upjUaeLR6hs7B6fjfRnGdakXc-SjRarZXQQ9CHsFgphqT8MIGrZyTIVBFPMBeyaV7v2d0DlJbxDuwi9YWjTe442AkVz8wQO1GkH7S9j8YlxddVOQYvAjTBUGDURn3q0_dQrlf9no/s400/CBC+Things+with+wings+wk1_2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Oh my lord, I had SOOOOOO much fun with this one! The background was done over a few days, as I started with gloss cardstock and Adirondack alcohol inks, then used the Adirondack blending solution and Tim Holtz stencils to add some more features. The dies are the same as for card 1, and I used the retired Stampin' Up! Feel Goods stamp set for the sentiment, matted on black cardstock, and Stampin' Up! Wisteria Wonder cardstock for the card base. <br />
<br />
Thanks so much for stopping by, be sure to stop by next week with my mid-challenge reminder!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1273365673808034805.post-80968327165677178622016-10-31T20:00:00.000+11:002016-10-31T20:00:13.963+11:00Crafty Boots Challenges - Pink MID-CHALLENGE REMINDERWe're halfway through our fab Pink challenge at <a href="http://craftybootschallenges.blogspot.com.au/?m=0" target="_blank">Crafty Boots Challenges</a> for this fortnight. For this week, I have made a card for a friend who sadly (and very unexpectedly) passed away two weeks ago in a car accident. Her craft friends have been asked to make cards to place around her coffin, in lieu of flowers. I saw this stamp at a craft show, and it had my friends name written all over it, so it seemed only fitting that I make her a card with it. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMLPIHO-lZs3EnmHRsbsYmFkhJAXUzcm7tyln_CPvF4NcRrLORR0MGOHwAOsGl3Wheg-L7EY0vvTyTRFJwb7rE2ysaw5VPYLcPb3Egmxj5lIr9mOvZ4JbQ8_Au1u7VkIyKIoIFuzlh-Qk/s1600/Crafty+Boots+Pink20162.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="381" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMLPIHO-lZs3EnmHRsbsYmFkhJAXUzcm7tyln_CPvF4NcRrLORR0MGOHwAOsGl3Wheg-L7EY0vvTyTRFJwb7rE2ysaw5VPYLcPb3Egmxj5lIr9mOvZ4JbQ8_Au1u7VkIyKIoIFuzlh-Qk/s400/Crafty+Boots+Pink20162.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The image is Yvette from Stamp It Australia, coloured with Copics, the papers are Kaisercraft Mademoiselle, edges are inked with Kaisercraft Pinecone, and finished off with Stampin' Up! Basic Rhinestones, the card base is Kraft cardstock.<br />
<br />
Thanks so much for stopping by, it's been wonderful looking at all the Pink entries in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1273365673808034805.post-84677394853264995112016-10-24T19:57:00.001+11:002016-10-24T19:57:44.927+11:00Crafty Boots Challenges - PinkAs usual, we have a fab new challenge over at <a href="http://craftybootschallenges.blogspot.com.au/?m=0" target="_blank">Crafty Boots Challenges</a> for you this fortnight. In honour of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, we have a 'pink' challenge on the go. <br />
<br />
I have kept my card very simple for the challenge, but plucked up the courage to cut into a gorgeous sheet of Kaszazz paper that I have been hoarding for over 4 years now *sniff*. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5nOpB6xBYGBu6ss9LN2kcvn_vWSTy1NounXTy5MjJntz1-ULouvesabMYND2ozZIn7MqsUV6IkZYAp2l7-dPwQ-yoP06tdDBARskDu8VypIm0yvEUotIr1GPNKaTwAkm2zhaTe0zCkRU/s1600/Crafty+boots+pink2016.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5nOpB6xBYGBu6ss9LN2kcvn_vWSTy1NounXTy5MjJntz1-ULouvesabMYND2ozZIn7MqsUV6IkZYAp2l7-dPwQ-yoP06tdDBARskDu8VypIm0yvEUotIr1GPNKaTwAkm2zhaTe0zCkRU/s400/Crafty+boots+pink2016.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The vertical strip has been stamped with an old Stampin' Up! stamp set; Strength and Hope, which was a set sold a few years ago in honour of Breast Cancer awareness. The sentiment is from a current Stampin' Up! hostess set, and all edges have been inked in Stampin' Up! Blushing Bride ink, and the card has been backed onto a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock. As mentioned, the DSP is Kaszazz, the butterfly is die-cut using Stampin' Up! Bold Butterflies die, and finished off with a few rhinestones. <br />
<br />

My girls love all things Halloween and ghoulish, so I have amassed a small collection of Halloween-themed products, and here is my card for the challenge at <a href="http://craftybootschallenges.blogspot.com.au/?m=0" target="_blank">Crafty Boots Challenges</a> this fortnight.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFIa9FonvzwKsWfPRwM8hX5PmzSiE-ARVXESTyyt3hAwmRhmT_BZXmyZxjPfTMc-SJSV-pbpY6qvhIFE5ELSO1kiSPzLpVVzaXn0VKlmNoxvGGOx2EACiK-vyF2L5Dn2gMVn0QD2pj3V4/s1600/Crafty+Boots+Halloween+mid+challenge2016.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFIa9FonvzwKsWfPRwM8hX5PmzSiE-ARVXESTyyt3hAwmRhmT_BZXmyZxjPfTMc-SJSV-pbpY6qvhIFE5ELSO1kiSPzLpVVzaXn0VKlmNoxvGGOx2EACiK-vyF2L5Dn2gMVn0QD2pj3V4/s400/Crafty+Boots+Halloween+mid+challenge2016.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I have so much going on here! The background has been created using a mix of Dylusions sprays, Distress Inks and Tim Holtz stencils. The skull is from Stampers Anonymous Halloween Blueprints, sponged with Distress Ink and had glossy accents applied over the top. The two tickets are from retired Stampin' Up! set, That's The Ticket, and inked over with Distress Ink. The "Boo" sentiment has been diecut from Kaisercraft alphabet dies, and had Kindy Glitz applied over the top. The skull has been mounted with foam tape, and everything else applied with Glossy Accents (so much tidier than Tombow glue!). The base of the card is Stampin' Up! Elegant Eggplant. <br />
<br />
My 9 year old has already snagged this card as next year's birthday card (her birthday was only a few weeks ago!), or if not "Christmas will do too, mum". <br />
<br />

So we have just entered Spring here, and my mind is on sunshine (which we have yet to experience), warm weather (ditto), and flowers (getting there slowly). Anyhoo, thank heavens for Pinterest, hey? Once I hit Pinterest, the creative ideas started flowing. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNn2-Nte7zyGPTvcGQudLDbu95I3hDRqqnqsGgbWzsLGX1FUxXep4JjZ6BIvbUSGrxZ0pUVPwVHLPdwn6TaNw01GrVj-na4ZguTwlsoBhuJW1DEYDvgaG1HYrIDS1-YEz-anhtdI-Kb-w/s1600/CBC+Autumn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="295" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNn2-Nte7zyGPTvcGQudLDbu95I3hDRqqnqsGgbWzsLGX1FUxXep4JjZ6BIvbUSGrxZ0pUVPwVHLPdwn6TaNw01GrVj-na4ZguTwlsoBhuJW1DEYDvgaG1HYrIDS1-YEz-anhtdI-Kb-w/s400/CBC+Autumn.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I took two of my favourite Autumn-themed stamp sets (both Stampin' Up! Lovely As A Tree, and French Foliage), but I wanted to go that little bit further, so I played around with the Shaving Foam Technique, some Tim Holtz Distress reinkers, and an Adirondack Alcohol ink, and came up with this background. It was so much fun, I ended up making a Shaving Foam master sheet and played around with a few different finishes. I have deliberately left the sentiment off, so I can add it inside the card. <br />
<br />

As usual, our challenges are very open to interpretation, so it's time to get your square on! Here is my card for the challenge<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjadOe-HGd33p37pneONqvvl2WUf5K3MmgKRxqJoawt6PwacO0XnBhhFdT0IosbK3lTXwg_IX8J4NvVGiM0Eokfzs5xk7JEq9uiwQLbCC59GdstZRXvE5yZa_2DP74EcWjb7DLqhxCLBkQ/s1600/CBC+All+Squared+Up.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjadOe-HGd33p37pneONqvvl2WUf5K3MmgKRxqJoawt6PwacO0XnBhhFdT0IosbK3lTXwg_IX8J4NvVGiM0Eokfzs5xk7JEq9uiwQLbCC59GdstZRXvE5yZa_2DP74EcWjb7DLqhxCLBkQ/s400/CBC+All+Squared+Up.jpg" width="372" /></a></div>
<br />
I haven't made a card in ages, so it was nice to sit and play! The DSP is a new(ish) one from Kaisercraft, the text paper is actually a stamp (Stampin' Up! Dictionary) - I couldn't bring myself to tear a page out of an actual book! I have stamped on the text with one of the images from Hot Off The Press Vintage Ladies, and used my Derwent Inktense pencils to colour the flowers in her hair. The sentiment is a retired Stampin' Up! sentiment, and I've used the Stampin' Up! Scalloped Oval and Large Oval punches. <br />

This fortnight our theme is to use a picture as your inspiration. <br />
<br />
Here is the picture<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjurFlwuXIGdgvBmX9gRvLmyydeNob9msFN_9xphyBcxhUUJi1amMly5E9CBLg3dvs0BUUVpIN0XsyZGkC2MR4EhRv-4AWefWmyXnIGNtrOqizOy1__8Ufd6cVT6xc20gcza7IHqg-FGjw/s1600/sunset-815270_1920.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="211" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjurFlwuXIGdgvBmX9gRvLmyydeNob9msFN_9xphyBcxhUUJi1amMly5E9CBLg3dvs0BUUVpIN0XsyZGkC2MR4EhRv-4AWefWmyXnIGNtrOqizOy1__8Ufd6cVT6xc20gcza7IHqg-FGjw/s320/sunset-815270_1920.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
At first I was stumped as to what to do, but after a weekend at Stamp Camp, hosted by the super talented <a href="http://thetamarisk.blogspot.com.au/" target="_blank">Teresa Abajo</a> I came home with so much creative mojo (cro-jo?) that I dove right in, and decided to use the colours as my inspiration. <br />
<br />
Here is my card<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-vP_o8gXCMOokYB9mKI0AeeLnUMQsk-q2twkxr_01uM7vxyq8PfpRM1hQHCG2PArpsAn7YHMg-QCFe4xRyMv21xWj1aHh1JKl4_xXXEoqy1Cj7kMfX4k70_9HM9uVP60PAAcTQIx3Hgk/s1600/Crafty+Boots+pic+inspiratio.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-vP_o8gXCMOokYB9mKI0AeeLnUMQsk-q2twkxr_01uM7vxyq8PfpRM1hQHCG2PArpsAn7YHMg-QCFe4xRyMv21xWj1aHh1JKl4_xXXEoqy1Cj7kMfX4k70_9HM9uVP60PAAcTQIx3Hgk/s400/Crafty+Boots+pic+inspiratio.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I have only played with mixed media at home, once or twice, but I am really happy with how this turned out! This weekend we have painted, distressed, stencilled, gessoed, crayoned, texture pasted, spritzed, sploshed and splashed. I'm fairly certain that nearly every one of those techniques is on this card! <br />
<br />
The stencils used are punchinella (from our kit) and a few of the Tim Holtz tag stencils. <br />
I have used gesso, as well as green, yellow, blue and red paint with a scraper, some torn out pages glued underneath the paint, and to finish I have used a Darkroom Door stamp, and a sentiment from one of the Dina Wakley sentiment sheets. <br />
<br />
I have used XPress It blending card as my mixed media base (how did I not know before that this was such a good cardstock for other things besides Copic colouring?!), mounted on to black card, and a thick white card base. <br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by! I can't wait to see how you interpret the picture :) Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1273365673808034805.post-87709668435514897802016-07-04T20:00:00.000+10:002016-07-04T20:00:06.190+10:00Crafty Boots Challenges - Christmas in JulyOur challenge this fortnight at <a href="http://craftybootschallenges.blogspot.com.au/?m=0" target="_blank">Crafty Boots Challenges</a> is Christmas in July. Here in Australia, our Christmas' are either muggy and wet, or hot and dry, so Christmas in July is the closest I will probably ever get to a white Christmas. I love the idea of a white Christmas, and my card for this challenge reflects that.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The DSP I have used is the last sheet in my Kaisercraft 25 Days of Christmas pad, which I have been hoarding for a very long time; it's just been "too pretty" to use! I finally found a great sketch in one of my older craft magazines, which I knew would be perfect to use. I have kept the rest of the card fairly simple, to really showcase the details of the paper.</div>

Supplies:</div>

Stamp sets: Cozy Christmas, A Wish For Peace</div>

Here is my card for this great challenge<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As with most of our challenges, I have too many ideas, and not enough cards (or time), but I managed to narrow down week 1 to this card. I have made a Z-Fold card, with Tim Holtz papers, the motorcycle and sentiment stamps are both Stampin' Up! The embellishments are some chipboard chevrons (inked with SU Always Artichoke, finished with Glossy Accents), and a chipboard cog button. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanks so much for stopping by! I will have another card next week!</div>

The challenge this fortnight involves one of my all-time favourite things; butterflies! Despite being rushed off my feet with sick kids, there was no way I was missing out on this challenge, so here is my card, which took the better part of a week to put together (sad, right?!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpV-9jrgMFW__KAqSRw5JGX15NURC7BHOOL0d_ipuodGkCkfRI17k3WQHGq4zhYmPcOkB640z_2iKQW8WFnP7LqajOs1xBLa6_znV6dsQsmVz8wb7LxdciAaV93r-L0Gyrri9O3t46JNc/s1600/Crafty+Boots+Butterflies+and+bees.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpV-9jrgMFW__KAqSRw5JGX15NURC7BHOOL0d_ipuodGkCkfRI17k3WQHGq4zhYmPcOkB640z_2iKQW8WFnP7LqajOs1xBLa6_znV6dsQsmVz8wb7LxdciAaV93r-L0Gyrri9O3t46JNc/s400/Crafty+Boots+Butterflies+and+bees.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I don't usually like spruiking my own cards, but I am so happy with how this turned out! The background has been put together using Dylusions sprays on watercolour card. The sentiment is from Stampendous, and my butterfly die-cut is of course, from my trusty Stampin' Up! framelits. The card base and cardstock used is Stampin' Up! Bermuda Bay. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanks so much for stopping by, I'll be back next week for yet another great challenge :) </div>

A very basic first attempt, but an attempt nevertheless. I managed to put together a cute, little punch art gift box for our mid challenge reminder at <a href="http://craftybootschallenges.blogspot.com.au/?m=0" target="_blank">Crafty Boots Challenges.</a><br />

<br />
I have made two projects this week, and am hoping to have a play with punch/die cut art for the mid-challenge reminder.<br />
<br />
Here are this week's projects:<br />
<br />
My first card is pretty simple, I found my inspiration on Pinterest. I have used some scraps of Kaisercraft papers to make the eggs and butterfly. The dies are Spellbinders Small Ovals, and Stampin' Up! Butterfly framelits. The sentiment has been made using some alphas, and cardstock is Stampin' Up! Baked Brown Sugar. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEWdXEFsZPQLI1n2EodrRVEPDv34oXtkHop77ESCRVs75zO0z5hKrA_82KjjKznU9lc10lbg6YKgbBPYb9v6yra9ps0U2nzC16dKjbRRi0hanv5f2DyHUwZW8rKikWm5AWld3eomh7DxU/s1600/Crafty+Boots+Easter+wk+1+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEWdXEFsZPQLI1n2EodrRVEPDv34oXtkHop77ESCRVs75zO0z5hKrA_82KjjKznU9lc10lbg6YKgbBPYb9v6yra9ps0U2nzC16dKjbRRi0hanv5f2DyHUwZW8rKikWm5AWld3eomh7DxU/s400/Crafty+Boots+Easter+wk+1+2.jpg" width="272" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For my second card, I have made an easel card. Cardstock is Stampin' Up! So Saffron and Whisper White. I have zero idea where the papers come from, I want to say Echo Park though, (maybe?). I have used Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Large Ovals, Small Ovals. The stamp set is Stampin' Up! Easter Blossoms, inks used are Stampin' Up! So Saffron, Strawberry Slush. The sentiment was punched using Stampin' Up! Decorative Label punch. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8RkZdkaStjOg2e4PCKQfyKSbPRFFIjW1Pggyamh2hpiG6_hv8eJxE9LJ0fZYG48C3sZuY26ng8onhTgXydAVifzOBQ6O2_OP2i_7VwI8BkQUXDXNUameVDJ10DdVAl9K4-_SbRHzV0C4/s1600/Crafty+Boots+Easter+wk+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8RkZdkaStjOg2e4PCKQfyKSbPRFFIjW1Pggyamh2hpiG6_hv8eJxE9LJ0fZYG48C3sZuY26ng8onhTgXydAVifzOBQ6O2_OP2i_7VwI8BkQUXDXNUameVDJ10DdVAl9K4-_SbRHzV0C4/s400/Crafty+Boots+Easter+wk+1.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back next week for the mid-challenge reminder :) Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1273365673808034805.post-21852022203559724982016-03-08T16:00:00.000+11:002016-03-08T16:00:22.601+11:00Creative Card Crew - #108 ChicksWe have another fab challenge this fortnight at <a href="http://creativecardcrew.blogspot.com.au/" target="_blank">Creative Card Crew;</a> add "chicks" to your card! <br />
<br />
A <a href="http://www.adayfordaisies.com/" target="_blank">Day For Daisies</a> is our awesome sponsor, and I was lucky enough to play with <a href="http://adayfordaisies.com/stamps/birds/birds-for-bree" target="_blank"><span style="color: #2198a6;">Birds for Bree</span></a> <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I have coloured my image with Copics. I have no idea what the paper is, I think maybe Echo Park? The dies used are La La Land, and Magnolia Doohickey. The sentiment was stamped with a freebie from a magazine. I have finished the card off with some liquid pearls.<br />

I started with one of the many images I have been practicing water-colouring, and decided to go from there. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGEAuiyL4L2-y16NpN9Ph9AmQnrRa9hQ2wZRbqpIOWm2M1zkWa_jhYaGHcisjlRuyCxB6BCKKtIiDFl_vbBrAI0JU0EQCmvcAJVlrXGI5Dce5qO_Cwb-aQvDIvabd6ZDLWM4JLiJWSX0w/s1600/Crafty+Boots+Something+for+the+ladies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGEAuiyL4L2-y16NpN9Ph9AmQnrRa9hQ2wZRbqpIOWm2M1zkWa_jhYaGHcisjlRuyCxB6BCKKtIiDFl_vbBrAI0JU0EQCmvcAJVlrXGI5Dce5qO_Cwb-aQvDIvabd6ZDLWM4JLiJWSX0w/s400/Crafty+Boots+Something+for+the+ladies.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I have been practicing my water-colouring lately. I still have a long way to go, but I finally plucked up the confidence to put one of the images onto a card. The image is "Daisy"from Kaszazz. The cardstock is Stampin' Up! Raspberry Ripple (long-retired). The paper is (I think) Echo Park - I really should keep the selvedge of my papers, woops! I have inked the edges of the image with Distress Ink Iced Spruce and Black Soot. The sentiment and punches are all Stampin' Up! and I have finished off the card with Liquid Pearls. I found all my neglected Liquid Pearls and embossing powders, so I'm trying to use them.<br />
<br />Thanks so much for stopping by!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1273365673808034805.post-55217569531283766572016-02-22T20:42:00.001+11:002016-02-22T20:42:35.021+11:00Crafty Boots Challenges - No Stamps Allowed MID-CHALLENGE REMINDERWelcome back to the second week of our No Stamps Allowed challenge at <a href="http://craftybootschallenges.blogspot.com.au/?m=0" target="_blank">Crafty Boots Challenges.</a> This one was a head-scratcher for me, but I got there in the end<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-oibnqdO1mWqGNeA2-stYT9YEhftEWI_2iPirZTxsq6wWcLVYy3QFrPO4oG9BUJ5g8e79n14a3r2YUBWjNIxJtthqT5N3ffAKvMHKB6z9Nu02PGfm9iicJ6_GiDUfAVUEx7_-Zabj3_c/s1600/Crafty+Boots+no+stamps+allowed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-oibnqdO1mWqGNeA2-stYT9YEhftEWI_2iPirZTxsq6wWcLVYy3QFrPO4oG9BUJ5g8e79n14a3r2YUBWjNIxJtthqT5N3ffAKvMHKB6z9Nu02PGfm9iicJ6_GiDUfAVUEx7_-Zabj3_c/s400/Crafty+Boots+no+stamps+allowed.jpg" width="388" /></a></div>
<br />
There's a lot of texture going on here; I have sprayed mixed media cardstock with Dylusions inks, then once dry, I have embossed with the Cogs embossing folder, and roughly smeared my Versamark ink pad across it, thrown some Distress Embossing powder down and heat embossed. I have die cut the old ute (from Ultimate Crafts), inked up some chipboard chevron pieces, and covered with Glossy Accents, and for the sentiment I have used some stickers and a tag. All edges have been inked up with TH Distress Ink Walnut Stain.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week :) Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2
